Saul Serrano

Program Officer

Saul Serrano has recently joined the Hope and Heal Fund team as a Program Officer to support gun violence prevention throughout California. Mr. Serrano also currently serves as the Coordinator for the South Coast Youth Safety Partnership; a regional collaboration administered by CommUnify, a Community Action Agency of Santa Barbara County. Previously, Mr. Serrano was a case manager and health educator for over ten years for the Los Compadres Program at CommUnify, which serves youth throughout Santa Barbara County.  Mr. Serrano grew up in the San Fernando Valley and attended UC Santa Barbara, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. He has been a participant in the Circulo de Hombres de Santa Barbara since 2001 and continues to serve on the Board of Directors for the National Compadres Network. For the past seven years, Mr. Serrano has served on the board for Leading from Within, a local organization in Santa Barbara helping to build leadership capacity in the nonprofit sector. Mr. Serrano also currently serves on the Santa Barbara County Juvenile Justice Coordinating Council and is an active member of the California Violence Prevention Network. Mr. Serrano was a past participant in the Future Leaders of America Program and continues to volunteer with various youth leadership programs in order to help foster the next generation of Latino youth leaders.
